The base CUSP exam is comprised of 100 multiple choice questions. In addition, all CUSP candidates will be asked to designate an endorsement exam from the following utility work environments:
- Electric Transmission & Distribution
- Power Generation
Each endorsement exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions. You must take and pass one endorsement exam along with the base exam. *You can opt to take more endorsements if you choose to.
Here is a link to sample questions that are similar to those you might see on the CUSP exam.
An exam proctor will be on-site to administer the exam. You will be asked to provide a photo ID, most typically a drivers license or work ID. All desktops will be cleared and cell phones must be turned off during the exam period. Notes cannot be used during the exam. You will not see any math questions on the CUSP exam so calculators are not necessary.
All those who take the exam will be notified of their results by email within 10 business days.
*One endorsement is included in the price of the exam. If you elect to take more than one endorsement, there is an additional fee for each additional endorsement taken.
