Committees

The USOLN community is engaged, vibrant, and thriving. You have work experiences and great ideas to share.

We hope you’ll consider spending some time volunteering and sharing your expertise with other utility safety and ops professionals. Learn about some of the committee opportunities below.

CUSP Exam Development

Are you a CUSP who would like to participate in writing CUSP exam questions? If so this is the group for you!

As an item writer you will:

  • Work with colleagues from diverse backgrounds to create questions for the CUSP exam
  • Share your knowledge of the profession and learning from your colleagues
  • Gain expertise in item writing
  • Participate in the process designed to ensure that competent utility safety professionals are certified
  • Earn CUSP points towards your recertification

Article Writing / Podcasts

Communication is critical to every successful program.  If you like to work mostly by email and have strong communication skills, article writing might be a good fit for you.

Or perhaps you are interested in sharing your insight with the utility safety community by delivering a podcast?

We are looking for people to write feature articles for the Incident Prevention magazine and our e-newsletters, Tailgate Topics as well as delivering relevant podcasts to the utility safety community.
